This scheme is strictly regulated by the NPHC and provides a free 10 year structural warranty on new park homes*. (*homes must be sited on parks which are registered with the scheme).

Standard sizes available are 10ft, 12ft, 14ft, 20ft and 22ft width units; however we offer a bespoke service and can manufacture any size home providing it conforms to BS3632.

In 1963 the "Thetford Engineering Company" was founded in the village Thetford in the USA. In 1964 this company moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Until the present day Thetford Corporation is located here. The company expanded rapidly and the first European establishment was opened in 1971 in the United Kingdom.

Since 1973 the European head office is located in Etten-Leur, The Netherlands. This is where toilets are assembled and the toilet additives and accessories are produced. Apart from the main office in The Netherlands, there are European sales offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Sweden. Moreover Thetford is represented by agents in Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Czech Republic.

The rapid expansion of the company went hand in hand with the development of new sanitation products. It all started with a slide action valve for holding tanks, right now Thetford has a wide range of sanitation products: portable toilets, permanent toilets, Cassette toilets, toilet additives and accessories like service hatches and cleaning products.

In 1997 Thetford Corporation acquired Norcold. Norcold is an important player in the market for absorption refrigerators in North America. Mid 2002 Thetford started producing absorption refrigerators in Europe as well. The production of our European absorption refrigerators takes place in a new factory in Etten-Leur, The Netherlands. This building is situated next to the building where the sanitation products are produced. With the introduction of the absorption refrigerator range, Thetford is experiencing substantial growth. The policy was launched in 2004 in response to a demand from lodge owners seeking a bespoke policy which recognised the superior construction of these properties, their high value and specification and their higher than usual occupancy rates, indeed many are occupied for the majority of the year.

The policy provides cover on a replacement as new basis protecting the home itself and its contents. The sums insured should therefore reflect the cost of replacement as new to include an allowance for site clearance, re-siting and delivery costs.

The policy is only available for lodges which are less than 5 years old when the policy is first issued, once insured the policy continues, on a new for old basis for as long as is required. The lodge must be insured for at least £30000 and must be sited on a licensed park in the British Isles.

The policy includes a £2m Property Owners'liability cover and a 24hour Homecare Emergenc Assistance Service.
It covers loss or damage caused by a wide range of perils such as storm, fire,flood (flood cover may be unavailable on some parks),falling trees and branches, frost damage to interior fixed domestic water or heating installations, accidental damage to sanitary fittings, glass, mirrors, ceramic hobs, TV's, audio and video equipment and home computers.

In 1980 the premises and equipment were leased by Heyday Insulation Ltd., which took over the vacuum forming as Apollo Plastics. Later the company acquired the equipment.
