Description The Company was first founded in 1968 and began trading as Peter Hodgson & Company from small premises in the East Yorkshire market town of Beverley.

Despite having fewer than 10 staff on the payroll, it rapidly established itself as an important player in the manufacture and distribution of putty.

Within eighteen months, it had earned a solid reputation for the quality of not just its products, but also in its ability to listen to its customers and understand their needs. This is a philosophy which has stood the test of time and continues to prevail at all levels within the Company to the present day.
In 1977, the Company moved to a new 3 acre purpose built factory site on the outskirts of Beverley which allowed it the means to increase output and develop new and innovative specialist sealants for construction and industry

Considerable investment was poured into the expansion of manufacturing capability and the Company now employs over 100 staff manufacturing a wide variety of sealant technologies ranging from putty to butyl cartridge and strip sealants, silicone sealants and foam tapes. Many will acknowledge its willingness to challenge conventional wisdom as being instrumental in driving forward new standards and methods in joint sealing technology.

From its early 'putty' days servicing glaziers, Hodgsons are now a key player in the glazing and window market, industrial roofing and cladding, caravan and automotive manufacture, ducting, membrane jointing and general construction sealing.

Increasingly the sales drive has been into export markets and the company is now servicing many European countries as well as the Middle-East, Africa and the Caribbean.
